Outdoor Surface Cleaning

Terrace. Stairs.
Clean again.

We clean terraces, stairs, cobblestones, concrete and ground-floor façades with professional Kärcher gear. Pressure tuned to the material. Step by step. Rust and oil we deliberately don't take on — there are specialists with more time for that.

What settles in outdoors

Four spots.
Four stories.

01
TERRACE

Green film on stone

Shaded terraces turn green over the season. Algae, moss, lichen — looks harmless, turns slippery when wet. Falls happen exactly there.

Often outdoors
02
STAIRS

Road salt and soil

Outdoor stairs collect everything: road salt in winter, pollen in spring, soil from shoes all year. Step by step the stone darkens.

Often outdoors
03
FAÇADE

Soot, pollen, cobwebs

Ground-floor façades, plinth areas, porches: airborne soot, pollen, cobwebs in corners. What looks different from move-in day — usually dirt, not age.

Often outdoors
04
JOINTING GONE

Cobblestone joints

Over the years rain washes out the joint sand and weeds grow through. High pressure exposes it — the re-jointing itself is construction work, someone else does that.

Three methods — depending on the spot

How we work.

Large areas get the rotating attachment. Stairs we do step by step by hand — no attachment reaches there. Façade low down with reduced pressure, because plaster is sensitive.

01

Surface cleaner for large areas

Rotating Kärcher attachment for terrace, forecourt, driveway. Even result, no streaks, clearly faster than a spot jet.

02

Stairs — step by step

On stairs the surface cleaner doesn't fit. There we work manually with a targeted jet. Takes longer, but every edge gets clean.

03

Low façade — targeted jet

Plinth, ground-floor walls, porches: targeted jet at reduced pressure. Plaster must not chip — so we test first on an inconspicuous spot.

Scroll — proof begins
Six steps

What we actually do.

01

Check the material

Concrete takes a different pressure than natural stone. Sandstone different from granite. When in doubt, test on a corner first, then the whole surface.

02

Calibrate pressure

Kärcher with the right bar pressure and nozzle. Too much pressure erodes — that wouldn't be cleaning any more, that would be damage.

03

Surface cleaner or spot jet

Large surfaces get the rotating attachment. Stairs, edges and corners we go over by hand with a spot jet — otherwise dirt rings remain.

04

Stair steps one by one

Each step: top, front, edge. Road-salt residue sits exactly where the shoe lands. More work — but that's the job.

05

Channel dirt away properly

Water plus dissolved dirt has to go — not into joints, not under door thresholds, not onto the neighbour's property. We rinse off in a controlled way.

06

Final check

What stays we tell you on site. No sugar-coating. If jointing clearly needs redoing — we say so, but we don't do it ourselves.

High pressure tuned to the material, surface cleaner for large areas, spot treatment for stains. If something can't be solved, we tell you on site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What customers want to know before outdoor surface cleaning.

What exactly do you clean?+
Terraces, stairs, cobblestones, concrete forecourts, driveways and façades in the ground-floor and plinth area. Also low walls and porches. Basically: everything reachable from the ground that suits high-pressure cleaning material-wise.
Why don't you do rust and oil?+
Because it rarely turns out well. Old oil and rust stains need special products, several passes, lots of time — and at the end a shadow often remains. We price honestly. Better to say no than to promise a result we can't deliver. There are concrete-restoration specialists for that — we know them and recommend them.
Stairs — does that cost more than a flat area?+
Yes. On stairs the surface-cleaner attachment doesn't work, we go step by step manually with a spot jet. Top, front edge, side. More work than a flat terrace — that goes into the fixed price. At the site visit we see how many steps and how involved.
Is high pressure suitable for every stone?+
No. Sturdy concrete, cobblestone and granite tolerate high pressure. Sensitive stones like sandstone, travertine or weathered natural stone can be damaged. We test first on an inconspicuous spot. If our method would be wrong, we say so — and refer you to a restorer.
Do you use chemicals against algae and moss?+
Standard is mechanical with pressure — that's enough in most cases. For very heavy green film we use biodegradable products, transparently listed in the quote. No aggressive chemicals that end up in the groundwater.
What about cobblestone joints — do they need to be redone?+
Often yes. High pressure washes out the remaining joint sand, otherwise weeds grow back through. The re-jointing itself we don't do (that's garden or construction work), but we say on site when it's needed and can refer you to suitable tradespeople.
How often should outdoor surfaces be cleaned?+
Depends on location and use. Shaded terraces with green film: usually every 1–2 years. Sunny driveways less often. Stairs used daily: yearly makes sense. When it gets slippery or green film spreads — time for cleaning.
